Here in Oregon this year it looks like it will be a bumper year for Horn Growth. Normally in the Oregon High Desert they are scrambling for water this time of year. Now they are trying to figuire out what to do with it all. They have had flooding throughout the desert in Lake and Southern Harney and Malheur counties. We have had so much rain here in the past few weeks it is crazy. I went over to the desert for the weekend to check on some spots and my god there is so much water over there it is going to be real intersting this year. Several of the lakes are at above full pool. The browse is the best i have seen it in 10 years with all of this rain. Green and Pretty. I have a gut feeling that Oregon will put out some real good bucks this year. The Sheldon in Nevada should be just crazy this year as well as alot of this weather is hitting it and the santa rosa's.

yup I here ya, the same story here in northeast Oregon. The Mt. emily unit is gonna have some bruiser bulls ounce again. Everywhere you look over here it looks like a park. :)

I drove across Wyoming from NW to SE yesterday. I've never seen it so wet over such a wide area. There was snow and water standing EVERYWHERE. It should be a good year for all of the critters; at least we're off to a great start.

Hey High Desert, hope this moisture youre talking about hit the Baker City area.My old High school buddy has been running cattle there and says the last time it was so dry was in 1976 and then the reservoir was full to start summer. Finally got cattle prices up but looked like growing hay this year would not pan out.Hope this moisture did all the Mule Deer states more good.

biglouis,

We got hammered here in La Grande the past week, and I heard the elk horns around baker got even more so everything should pan out for you friend. He is probably pretty happy about now. We run cattle/sheep out of Pendleton and we got alot over there even. I havent seen moisture this good in a long time, there are gonna be some bruiser bucks and bulls for sure. The High desert should have some trophy quality bucks as well. Also, its not like it rained and is really hot now, The temperature is also also helping keep things green. I cant wait until summer to get some good scouting in :)

Same here in the Cody area, rain and wet snow for the last month. Good for horn growth but a little worried it will not bode well for early turkey polts. But where i hunt turkeys there were lots of jakes this year.....LOL.
