Went on a little field trip the other day and snapped a few photos...

See the right hand side of the nest. The owner of that foot wasn't very "lucky"

We have a lot of guys that can guess deer scores well. Lets make this a bit more difficult.... what will this one score in August?:)

Most people never even notice the little things you seem to find and get great photos of. I like your photos of things like those eagles even more than your big game photos.

I'm probably in that category, but have gotten better than I used to be thanks in large part to my father-in-law. He has taught me the art of really "seeing things" in the field. Although not much of a hunter, he can spot almost anything out in his pastures at distances you wouldn't believe. After being around him for about a decade and trying to find all kinds of critters when he says "look there", I am now a much better hunter and observer in general. There really is an art to it that takes lots of time to acquire. When you learn to see, it is amazing what's out there.

I'll have to give the little gaffer 162 5/8ths.
It's good to see the little things in pics. I usually get to see that stuff first between my friends and I. If we enter an area where I think there's a good chance of spotting something I'll redirect there focus on something like an ol' stump and ask if it's a buck or "What the heck is that?". While they look I quickly scan the area for a buck or bull. My father-in-law finally caught on last fall when he looked at me while he was checking a far off stump. I was called every name in the book while I stood there and laughed my head off. I'm lucky though because he's the only one up here that's caught on!

nice ones, mr. dk...for a moment, i thought time had slipped by me and that first pic was a giraffe...soon enough, i'm sure......here's the deal...you stick with that buck till august and i'll stick with my bulls...we'll take pics then so's whomever wants to can see how close they were on the scores...nice fox pics...bet that was a 'hoot'...

DK will probably have pictures of that buck all summer until August, so we will probably have an Auguset picture. Therefore, I will venture a WILD guess and say 167-3/8.

LAST EDITED ON May-16-05 AT 06:55PM (MST)[p]166 5/8 counting that little cheater on the G-3. :) Great shots Jeff. It looks like a not so lucky rabbit's foot. :)

You have a special talent.

that has the potential to be one BIG deer! Awesome up close photos. They are all excellent as usual

Excellent and interesting pictures. I'll say the buck will hit the magic 180 mark... and then tell me where he's at :)

Great pics Jeff!
That buck has nice bases............it'll go 177.........give or take 10 inches! :)
Thanks for posting.

Outstanding pics. You either have killer equipment or your a helluva photographer.. probably both. Nice work.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Would be nice to see that big buck in another 2 months.

Muzzle,
I have a decent camera and I'm a very average photographer... I just get lucky now and then and end up being in the right place at the right time.

Thanks for posting those great pics, Bwana....

Lemme see....based on the spread and mass, I'd have to guess somewhere between 192 3/8 and 193 5/8 :)
