I am suprised at how many people on this website cannot score Deer correctly. I know you are all going to bash on me but it is just suprising on some post how people act like experts but are off 20-40 inches on the score!

Come on man....I'll be the first. Don't you think it's a little hard to score an animal through a computer screen!! There just pictures. Sometimes from one sh!tty angle. I think if you get within 20" your doing pretty good.

Then whenever someone says what an animal scored you'll be the first the second guess him. Kinda like those MT. bulls!

20 inches is a ton especially on deer! Not to be rude but if your off 20 inches on a deer that is a lot. Listen I am just talking about the people who really think they know how to score! 20 inches 160 deer to a 180 deer is enormous!

whats really amazing is when soneone says.... Ya I seen a 190 deer but didnt get a shot. I can tell you that I seen a big deer but I cant say it was 180 to 190 just by seeing it for a few minutes.

I've seen some amazing scoring claims in magazines usually from the proud hunter. It seems most on this site can guess the score fairly well but I agree it is tough from a single picture as one picture can be misleading.

Depends on what scoring system you ues. I'm always right on with the one I use. Its Wallability. If you think its a good buck who cares what it scores.

I agree with you in having a fun and good hunt.

mtmiller,
I am going to shut up because I know who you are and have read your articles in magazines. I know the score of this Elk because I read your article and live by what you said in it with this Elk. I am sorry if I have offended you and I will shut up. Sorry if I pissed you off!

NBJhuntermaniac,

You make me sick!!! Yes, I do know that you can professionally
score deer from cyber space! Just because you have a 17" monitor and know how to set your screen resolution to score
them, doesn't give you the right to criticize the rest of us.

I read your elk forum post (#1) http://www.monstermuleys.info/dcforum/DCForumID7/4721.html

That proved right there how capable you were!!!!!!

The only bobcat thinking: is there a better cyber scorer on this site!

NBJ,
Score guessing photos is just that, guessing. Normally they are at poor angles and all that. I recall last year posting up a pic of a 270+ giant that was taken in Sask and everyone called BS saying they figured it wouldn't even go 230. That's over 40 inches off. ;) These score guess threads are all in fun but when the animal is on the hoof and the seconds count, you can bet those that kill big bucks on a regular basis know how to field judge. When you've looked at enough bucks over the years and put the tape on them on the ground or on the sheds, it comes pretty natural to know the difference between a 160 class, a 170 class, 180 class and a 190 class. Still the odd buck fools ya though. Watched a buck a couple years ago that I was sure gross just barely over 200. When we got the sheds I was really surprised to see he grossed over 210. ;)
