Guess i'll try once more. Have'nt had much response last 2 times but here goes again. Buddy and i drew Montana general deer. Since his son lives in Bozeman going to school we thought we'd hunt within 100 or so miles of there. He can only hunt with us on the weekends. We won't be equipped to camp or get way back in.
Basicly it will be up very early drive to area hunt all day then back to his place or a motel. He hunted this way last year with another guy and they had decent success.Thinking of getting there second weekend of Nov. Any tips (where, when, etc) would be greatly appreciated.

Figured maybe one of the MT. boys would throw ya bone....but, I'll give you a little idea. If your around Bozeman....you could always head south towards Gardner. A lot of the area on the right side is public land with pretty good access and actually sits right outside of Yellowstone.

Be careful with any units on left hand side as I THINK that unit closes early for deer. I would stop and get a map that will show the the boundries between private and public land for that entire area.

I think if you head North you'll run into the same private land problem. A lot of nice area with some decent bucks but hard to get access. There are some 1 sq. mile areas up there that are open to public....but you need a map to show where they are!!

I spent a week over there all around that area 3yrs ago. but thats all the experience I have for ya. If you got any more specific questions I might be able to help...you can PM me.
