I just got in....nada for my second choice draw which woulda been a gimme the last few years but experienced a deep cut in tags (after the application deadline of course).

Can you say "Plan B"? 2 hrs left to apply for Idaho...yehawww....

BINGO!!! Third season here we come!!! Good to get confirmation.... One less thing to worry about!

Good luck to the rest of you!!

Makes me wonder what the DWR was smoking with the "computer problems." Maybe they were trying to keep the system from getting bogged down while they were dumping info.

Bottom line for me is a point, dad didn't draw, and a few friends did.

Sounds like all of the hype did away with some second choice areas, and those who bought landowner tags are going to get the last laugh in certain areas.

Sounds like some areas doubled in the number of points it took to draw last year. Welcome to the information age!

Ain't the drawing game fun?!!!

Looks like I'll be a "greenie" for a few weeks this August/September!

BOHNTR )))---------->

I just found out I drew the CO tag I wanted, but my partner (brother-in-law) did not!! Any one know what the minimum # of points for #61 #rd season for non-residents may have been?
Good luck everyone!

(sorry bess, I just felt like shouting)

Prism,

What a bunch of B.S. !!! Sorry to ruin your day with that bad info. I really apologize for that. I won't ever trust what CDOW says again when it comes to the drawings. I guess their computer system got fixed pretty fast...I wasn't even going to check for a few days until I saw this new post. I am also wondering what was going on. Why would they say that the drawing results wouldn't be available for a couple of weeks if they knew they were going to post in a matter of hrs.

I am going to apply in ID. it looks like.

Sorry Again,

Steve

archeryelkaholic-How many points did that take?

Steve-No problem. I think they were trying to keep us from crashing their site, it made the news the results "were" out all the sweeter. You must still be stacking up the points?

Paul,

Sorry Again! Yes I added more points, someday I'll get the courage to burn them all. We did draw a backup unit but I have my fingers still crossed for NV & WY.

FYI-Did you see that ID has had computer system problems as well and they have extended the appl. deadline to June 5th.
Check the website, I don't trust F&G employees anymore!!
It sounds like it is time to go back to paper applications & sending money up front. You never hear of Wyomings old-fashioned system crashing do you?? It may take six months to process but I like Wyomings reliable paper appl. system.

Good Luck,

Steve

My friend, myself and my dad drew 2nd season for unit 49. Can't wait!! I'm already drooling!!

Steve-I got put in for Idaho in what I thought was the last minute. Pisses me off when states extend application periods, I wonder how much more $$$ they'll make in the next 5 days. This is the latest I've ever waited to put in for any state-thought I'd have Colorado results sooner. If I'd missed the application it'd been my own damn fault for waiting until the last minute. Oh well, I'm not planning on drawing anything either way. The $128 is worth a pheasant hunt if I take the time to go this year.

Hope you kill a monster when you decide to cash in your CO points, but I'm not sure it's going to get any better than it now is :)

This sucks I finally find a spot with some monster deer that I got the sheds to and I dont draw a tag. 4 choices and got none of them. Guess I will have to drive around and scare em all to save em for next year.

1st & 2nd choice were a zero.
according to last years data, I was a lock, apparently someone squealed.
sour grapes for me.

I'll be damned!! I got my 3rd season rifle tag! Now to try and avoid the 1200 cow tag hunters!! Crowd control and cash flow!!!

Preference points is all I get again. Up to 7 points now. Looks like a tuna trip to the gulf of mexico this fall.

Phantom Hunter now Fisherman

Howdy,
Phantom, sorry. Maybe we should get together and cry in each other's beers... so to speak!
Find us a place for whitetail near Abilene.

I got a point and drew a solid second choice unit. In the past few years, I have not had a bad experience in Colorado, even for a second-choice license. I'm looking forward to another good run this year.

I drew 3rd season unit 61, burned 8 points to do it. my partner had 6 points and now has 7 points and no tag, looking into possible landowner tags. I'm over 1000 miles from the area so won't be able to scout in person.
Good luck everyone. sjh

I drew my Eastern Plains Archery Mule Deer Tag! It'll be exciting at Thanksgiving, and stalkin' those critters during the heat of the rut!!!(Never have gotten the opportunnity to hunt 'em during this time). Now elk tag results in New Mexico and Arizona are next in line respectively,Keeping my fingers crossed especially for the Arizona chance!

My son , my dad and along with myself all got our second season rifle buck tags....bring it!!

Drew 54 2nd , don't know squat about the area.I guess i'll start doing some research.

I had 11 points but I am sure it didn't take that many. Might have gone for around 7.

I have been hunting some ranches on the plains the last 10 years while building points and waiting for a good opertunity. There are plenty og big bucks on the plains so I wasn't in a big hurry. I think unit 54 offers the potential right now.

I had 12 points. Could have had any tag there was but wanted this. I thought long and hard on 55 but decided I didn't want it.

Archer

My buddy and I drew an archery mule deer tag for Colorado. It is a split hunt, some dates in Oct,late Nov. and late Dec. Evidently there is a gun hunt in between the Nov. and Dec. dates. It is unit 142, Pinyon Canyon. We know someone who hunted it during gun season several seasons back. I think for archery picking the right time to be there during the rut will be the key. Anyone have info they would like to share would be greatly appreciated. Not asking for specific honey hole info , more interested in timing info. Thanks in advance.

Not that I didn't like 55 but feel the unit I got is just as good and I know the access areas.

Didn't see that you had drawn unit 44... that's a great hunt. you'll have a great time!
