CO unit 57

LAST EDITED ON Jun-10-05 AT 12:30PM (MST)[p]I drew a second season tag for mulies in unit 49 where we've always had pretty good luck, it's also good for unit 57 & 58 which looks like some nice country. I was just curious if anyone out there had any experience with unit 57 or 58. I'm just kinda curious what I could expect over there. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dennis

Hello. Try Aspen Ridge and Cow Gulch in 57. 58 is actually a better deer unit with less pressure and a little better average bucks. In 58 try Jack Hall Mountain, Waugh Mountain and Badger Creek SWA. Good luck.

Interpol, what do you think of unit 49? Ever hunted there? My family and I have done pretty well there. Thanks alot, Dennis

No, never hunted 49. I think of all those units lumped together 57 & 58 are better for deer. From what I hear 49 is probably better for elk but there are some nice mature bulls running around in 57/ 58. We like to elk hunt there the 3rd season. I have never harvested a muley but they are up there. Email me at [email protected] and I'll get some more info for you.
