I had a friend do just that, (before I met him).
His family owned a real estate company on town.
He decided to start with $1 bills and made a bunch tto run through coin machines.
They worked.
He got caught outside a rural Colorado post office at 1am where he had been parked for a little over an hour. Local cops got a little curious.
He had 10,000 faked in his car.
Lost that too.
