My father in law has a September archery tag for nm unit elk I was just looking for any advise we been doing a lot of scouting just cant seem to locate the elk any information would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Hunted unit 10 2nd archery before. very tough unit with great potential just not a ton of elk on this unit. You do have to get away from the roads as much as possible even though you will see some from the dirt roads on the unit. the only way we found success was locating them by their bugles and moving in close. hopefully you have a few days of them talking a bit and you'll have some success!

Don't overlook around the elk farm. (if is still there)
We was there once Sept 12 and there was bulls bugling outside the fences.
