Looks like a lot of birds made thru the winter, If they get a good hatch, plus the leftover birds from last year. The season will be a pretty good one again this fall. Just wish they would stop burning all those slough's right now, those slough's are dry so they are burning them to be able to plant crops in those low spots, Need some rain back there to fill them back up.

I am hopeful of a repeat of last year here in UT. I fed a big bunch of hens and roosters over the winter so I am hopeful with a good hatch or 2 it would be another good one....Gator can you see the chance of 2 hatches with the early spring?

How to start an argument online:
1. Express an opinion
2. Wait

A second hatch could happen easy, they are plants crops a couple of weeks early already, along as the weather does it thing and they have some good spring rains(plants and bugs) and no bad rains at hatching time( cold and heavy), They should have a good season for raising chicks.

That's good to hear, I was hoping that the birds would survive the winter, now we just have to hope that they can have a good hatch and then let the fun begin when I go in November. I will have to see if I can get together with you this year when I am there.

They are starting to see some little fuzzballs running around.
They released more hens this year and they are nesting so we are hoping for the best results. Everything is planted.
Nephews took a lot of fur around our area this last winter so that should help also.

The hatch is coming along really nice they are seeing a lot of babies now, I think not cutting the road ditches until July is helping them also.

That's good to hear, I'm looking forward to November. I have a couple new pups that are also looking forward to the trip this year.

The State has said it should be the best season in 6-7 years, so as long as the weather and bugs hold up it should be a winner,
Pro Pheasant has turned loose alot of Hens already this year in all area's of the county, and we are get ready to turn more of them loose this week on properties that we own and hunt.
Great numbers are turning up in the brood counts so far.

The good new just keeps coming for the Pheasant numbers are up 42% from last year, 2 good winters in a row sure did help. Dogs are working good, got a case of 5's & 4's ready, 30 days to go then it is time to point the truck east and haul a$$.

Just over two weeks away from headed east, the old dogs are getting into shape and the new pups are working good. I can't wait to get over there. It's good to see the bird numbers up from last year but even on down years my dogs have been able to do really well, South Dakota is a special place when it comes to pheasant hunting. I can't wait.

Talking to everyone back there, looks like the corn will be done by the last week of Oct so the our hunt coming up show be great.
Should be a good hunt with 9 guys we will be able to hunt some of the large sloughs.

Good hunt even with the winds and cold, Had some good guys and some great dog work. Had lots of birds on the days it wasn't blowing 35-50 mph. Everyone did good, everyone got back safe.
