I am looking for any guidance for a 1X scope for a CVA Accura. I bought this gun a few years ago and used it one season with the factory open sites. Thinking of adding a scope to it, but Utah still currently limited to one power (1X) only. I have heard rumblings of allowing up to a 4X, but haven't seen anything that confirmed that will happen. Any guidance you can give on scope and rings/base would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, TS

I have a tc hawken hunter 1x fixed scope for my utah muzzle loader hunting setup. I love the fact that it has a fine crosshair which allows you to see your target. I ordered it online a few years back. I shoot the tc encore so it has a tc one piece base and the tc rings. I love the setup, shoot very accurately. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I also researched scopes and ended up with the TC Hunter Hawken also and could shoot decent groups out to 200 yds. I didn't try any of the red dot scopes as I felt I could be more consistant at the range with the cross hair and I was very pleased with the accuracy and consistancy. I didn't try anything further than 200. I will likely sell my scope soon as it was for a 1 time UT hunt which I'm now out of the running and have to shoot open sights in CO and I'll be too old to try to get a UT tag again.

I have two Knight muzzleloaders. I have the Nikon Buckmaster 1x scope on both of them. I wasn't the happiest with the scope as I couldn't get a full view with regular mounts. I later purchased offset mounts which allow me to get a full view as I could slide the scope forward. Love this setup, great shooting gun and full view now. Don't overlook the rings and bases as I did.

Good luck!

I've tried lots of different 1x scopes and red dots for muzzleloading in Utah. My preffered optic is an Eotech which I've used the last 3 years. For a conventional scope Nikon makes a decent 1x.

I have used the Simmons 1X the crosshairs don't cover up the animal and that makes it easier to hold a good sight picture on a kill spot.

VORTEX CROSSFIRE! Is the ticket sight in at 100 yards.I prefer the green dot. Are you hunting deer or elk and what state is my next question?
