Has anyone seen damage to the breech Plug like this? Any idea what would cause it?

The crush fit concept the UML uses is good in theory, but not so good in practical application. As soon as one piece of brass doesn't seal right, the leaking starts and likely will only get worse. The head space is also all over the place on these which certainly doesn't help the cause.

It has nothing to do with BH209, it is a poorly designed breechplug. I will second Luke's conversion. It is a much better design.

It is a pretty junky system. It would be better if they actually head spaced the guns right from the factory, but a lot of them leak right from the start.

You would think the engineers at Remington could have come up with a better option if they spent an afternoon on google. Probably too busy on FB or something.

Smokeless and BH209 like a good seal and hot ignition for reliable performance. If your BP is burnt out and leaking, more than likely you're going to have erratic burn and subsequently poor ES's and accuracy.

Have You got a YouTube Video on the Remington Ultimate Conversion?

I Ain't had No Problem Yet,Notice I Said Yet!

Does Your Conversion/BP Kit Change the Gun to 209 Primers?

Or does the Gun Still Use the Stock Remington Brass Cases with Primers?

I know so many people in so many places
They make allot of money but they got sad faces

It Ain't Easy being Me!:D:D:D

Lol, yeah, some will go for a long time and be just fine. You just never know.

Sorry. No YT video yet. I've been saying I'm going to for a long time, but never seem to have time.

My system uses brass modules that take a large rifle magnum primer like the UML, but instead of sealing via a crush fit. Mine seals with the nipple. Basically a miniature cartridge.

The distance from primer to powder on mine is much shorter than the UML system. The larger case system that the UML and other mfg'ers use is nice for handling. But those long pieces of brass mean long distances from primer to powder. No way around it. Further distance from primer to powder means less positive ignition even if BP isn't leaking.

Do you have any improved breach plugs for an Encore? I went to your website but didn't see any. I am having mixed results with BH209 and would like to try and improve my existing rifle instead of buying a new one.

Thank you!!!

Not yet. It's on my to do list.

The factory Encore breechplug shoots BH209 just fine. I have shot many pounds of BH209 in my Encore and Omega with no issues when using the correct primer and a tight fitting sabot of course.
