I had one of these when they first came out and sold it off many years ago. My dad over heard me talking about trying to find one. He found one on a forum and ended up making a deal and surprising me for Christmas. Love it! I want to pick up a .45cal barrel for it later. Very rare guns to find these days. A solid platform for a muzzleloader as well.

I ended up using durasight quick detach rings, Nikon 4-12x40 Buckmasters scope and converted the slotted 209 breech plug over to the enclosed hex head BP. After adding an over sized o ring into the primer pocket and shimming the bolt face, its 100% blowby free and shoots Blackhorn209 100% reliably.

I plan on using Thors in it for hunting, but right now I am shooting 110gr Black MZ, Traditions EZ Loads sabots and the 300gr XTP mag for plinking.

Still trying to figure out what open sights I will set this rifle up with.

First thing you will need is the older style Optima, Kodiac, Wolf hex head breech plug,

next you will have to add a little length to the bolt face. This is a simple washer that was epoxied into place. I believe this was a 12mm washer. Thickness is unknown but i will get some measurements for you soon.

Also installed is a thick o ring into the primer pocket. I will get you the size and brand for this as well.

It is a pretty straight forward swap. The plugs flash channel is 3mm and was drilled with 1/8" drill bit so it was an easier to find locally, standard size drill bit. Keeping the primer blow by sealed up with what makes this breech plug set up, shoot flawlessly with BH209.
