Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone has some helpful tips and pointers on the deer in this unit, how to hunt it, etc... Cant seem to get much info from anyone i.e. the warden or the biologist. I would realy appreciate any info. I'm not a bum hunter. Back country is my thing .Getting away from any road is a must. I've hunted mule deer all my life but never coues. Thanks in advance.

that's great! I have since determined that you must be talking about New Mexico and not Arizona, that is why I inquired, being that AZ results are not out yet

Yes. Please forgive me for my sarcasm. I realized that I was not clear in my title. Yes unit 27 in NM. Thanks for brining it to my attention.

Hunted 27 for my first coues hunt last Nov. If you get off the roads and put down some boot leather you should have a great hunt.

That is the strangest looking coues deer I've ever seen!

CA,
That's funny. Use to be a pic of my unit 27 coues buck from a couple seasons ago. No idea what that pic is. Must be a glitch in the Matrix.

We hunted 27 twice. Never tagged out. We were looking for book animals. Saw lots of smaller bucks. We had the best experience glassing really isolated bowls from a higher elevation. They really never come right out in the open. Dang things are always a step or two from cover. We equated the terrain where we found them most almost similar to like glassing Alpine bowls in Colorado for elk. Find these pockets and you'll find Coues.
