I have a Dec. 7-15th rifle Coues tag in this unit and was wondering about weather and temps during this time. trying to figure out my sleep set up.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thx.

I haven't been in the unit in several years, but I used to spend a lot of time down there. The weather can be variable. If it snows, it won't be much accumulation, and an afternoon of sunshine will melt most of it off throughout most of the elevational ranges. I would suspect that night time lows will be around freezing, but will warm up significantly during the day. It is pretty mild country from a weather standpoint.....not as hot as say Tucson, but certainly not too cold. You'll probably need a coat at first light, but can be down to just a shirt mid afternoon. Best of luck on your hunt. That landscape down there used to be a real special and magical spot. I hope you have a great time there.
