Late season Montana elk and mule deer

Saw over 100 head of mule deer does.........and this one monster muley buck. No wonder Montana isnt known for monster mule deer anymore.

Looks like them elk dont have much feed.

They had fed all night in the hay fields and horse pasture and were heading up into the hills to bed.

Looks like that ridge right behind the Corrall Ranch. We went down and shot a cow there two weekends ago. There were about 4 times the amount you have in your pic. Pretty cool to watch them.

That would be the place! A friend of my dads drew a tag this year and I went along to help him. There were actually several more herds, but I snapped this pic right after he shot his cow. Lots of elk!
