Thanks for posting the awesome photo. You guys never cease to amaze. How about some more info. 200-400 lense or what?

Nice, someday I am heading west to get some photos of those guys in the rut.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-07-08 AT 04:07PM (MST)[p]sask, we should trade, you can take us to see mule deer and we will take you to see elk. . .

for most of my shots I used a 200-400, or a 500. This image was taken with the 500 f4 vr and the d3 body. . .

"Roadless areas, in general, represent some of the best fish and wildlife habitat on public lands. The bad news is that there is nothing positive about a road where fish and wildlife habitat are concerned -- absolutely nothing." (B&C Professor, Jack Ward Thomas, Fair Chase, Fall 2005, p.10).

That would be great but I don't even have time to get out and look for mule deer here. We have a new baby coming in late December, early January so I don't see it getting any better next year. Hopefully you guys keep posting these awesome photos so I can get a bit of a fix.

Great pics as usual. The bull pics are the best of the best. I noticed in the original pic that his zipper is down. Can you photoshop that for me? My daughter might see that. Plus, it's embarrasing for the bull.

Keep shooting.

Nice pics ! In 6 days of hiking the Yellowstone backcountry we have only found a handfull of bulls this year and none of them impressive --- except the dead ones--- lots of them.

Time in the hills is always worth more than money
