Broadheads ?

wac'ems fly pretty good, but ive had 2:3 blades break and come out if you hit bone. i only bought enough muzzy's to see that a fair amount wont spin true. take a look at the radical archery madman or tri con 3 blade. the design looks bullet proof and they are the only thing ive found that will fly better than a slick trick.

Our family and friends have used G-5 Strikers for years, shoot same as field points out to and past 80yds.

Absolutely most accurate out the box broadheads . Any Magnus. The black hornet like is awesome too. Just as lethal as they are accurate.
Also the Exodus swept blade. That's head is ridiculous sharp and accurate.

I recommend Slick Trick Standard 100gr heads. They are simple, reasonably priced and fly great from my experience. I have tagged 5 deer and 3 elk with them.

What do you plan to hunt? I run Montecs and/or hellrazers. Properly tuned both fly to 80 with field points and I can shoot either in the field.

I have had bad luck getting muzzy?s and wasps to fly like field points.

My arrows victory rip XV that I plan to use this year are just over 400 gr with 125 gr broadheads for elk and mule deer at 300+ fps. So it's fixed only for my set up.

I shot Wac?ems for years with great results, as their flight characteristics are second to none. However, since the company has been bought out customer service and quality has suffered, IMO.

I've been testing and shooting the Magnus Black Hornets.......a GREAT flying head with exceptional strength and penetration. Also the best warranty in the business.

Having said that, there are many reputable heads anymore, including VPA, Muzzy, NAP, G5, etc. When I tested heads a while back on a hooter shooter machine, Slick Tricks also flew well. Lots to choose from nowadays.

Have to looked at shuttle T broadheads? I hear nothing but good things but have no experience. Anyone else?

VPA broadheads.

Tried these a few years ago and wont go back.
They are machined from a single piece of steel.
I have tested many and these are by far the toughest...put one thru a cinder-block.

They fly wicked straight and sharpen right up. I shoot them year-round, then sharpen and hunt with the same heads. As close to indestructible as you can get.

I like the 150 grain 3 blade non-vented myself.

All the Magnus replies here should certainly motivate the op to look into them. MAGNUS! Whatever head you chose from Magnus will be great. Another head that's just amazing not mentioned here is Exodus swept blade shot a bull last year with them and holy crap!

I've killed 3 elk and a couple of deer with the 3 blade wac'em triton and never had a broken blade, even hitting bone. They fly great out of a well tuned bow and all the animals seemed to be as dead as if they'd been shot with something twice the price.

Another vote for Slick Tricks. I shoot the 100 gr Magnums. Hit with my field tips, will break bone and penetrate. My arrows weigh 372 grains at 275 FPS. Three dead elk from 30 to 50 yards with complete pass throughs every time.

If you've ever shot trap competivitly, this is the equivalent to the age old question, 7 1/2s or 8s.

I personally prefer a Zwickey Eskilite or equivalent two blade fixed head. Had excellent success with the Magnus Classic before they were discontinued. Had some great kills with Spitfire expandable's but a few bad experiences with good shot placement. I prefee a fixed two blade. They are tricky to get to fly good but produce a great exit wound/blood trail.

I use Muzzy 3-blades, 100 grain, 385 total weight. They fly similar to my field points. But honestly, I haven't shot field points in a while, only the practice blades. Never had anything break with them, but the blades do get bent. After a blade goes through a deer, I toss it regardless of how it looks.

I've found if I put the arrow where it needs to go, they do their job. Probably the same for most any BH.

I have a bit of experience with the wacem (haha).. If you look back in history.. ALL others follow. they were the first cut on contact head that lead the industry... you cannot go wrong with this head. three blade triton was the original and is tough, and accurate!

love this head!!

>they were the first cut on
>contact head that lead the
>industry...

I liked them too.....but your statement is a bit of a stretch and more likely personal opinion?

Wac'em: kill
G5 Montec: kill
VPA: kill
Slick Trick: kill

I have used all thw above with the kill result.

My go to is Wac'em though.

I've been using 100grain Shuttle T's for quite awhile now. They are the first broadhead out of many I tried over the years that fly like field points. However the last year or two I noticed they really didn't feel that sharp new right out of the box. Has anyone else noticed that or am I just imagining it?

My go to broadhead is a muzzy three blade, killed over 20 deer with this brand and one 400# black bear it has never failed to open like some friends expandables because its a fixed blade , i know of three deer shot with expandables that failed to open and the deer was seen days later with the arrow still in it . Anything mechanical can fail from time to time
