LAST EDITED ON Sep-06-18 AT 01:15PM (MST)[p]If there's still anybody asking about broadheads and their performance here?s what a 4 blade standard did for me last week
Shot mine with a VPA 150 grain 3 blade non-vented.
Went in through the rib bone, through the heart, and out through the humerus bone.
Not much blood trail needed, deer went 12 yards after shot, dropped dead.
Found arrow next day in rocks. Test shot at target, resharpened and back in quiver.
2 bones + ground impact = zero damage to broad-head.
I know its a huge conversation every year and I agree there are many great options. With that said I switched to the Slick Tricks years ago, and on 5 archery hunts I have 5 1 shot complete pass thru kills, the 5th hunt was an archery antelope hunt where I was served humble pie on a huge plate as far as my shooting goes...Love the Slick Tricks tho...
This is very encouraging. Thank you for the post. I am torn between this and the Shuttle T-Lock. The T-Locks fly exactly as my field points but have a reputation for being dull out of the box AND for being tough to sharpen (due to their design).
Slick tricks plane to the right consistently beyond 40 yards. My bow is tuned so maybe I just need to adjust my sight and call it a day.
