I Have shot them in The Past on Hogs. Very very Accurate But, Did not like the Blood trails. When I Shot them I only Shot the 2 blade Head. I Am Planning on Using them for Elk and was Wondering if anyone Have Seen Better results on Blood trails with the 4 blade Stingers ( Bleeder Blades) over the 2 Blade?

The 4 blade has produced blood trails for me that a blind man could follow but I touch em up so they grab before I use em.

As an experiment I once shot them into fresh cow shoulder blades. Penetration was excellent and the main blades stayed sharp and straight, the bleeders bent.

Will be my go to head this year.

How Far was Your shot when You Preformed Your Test? Back when I Used the 2 blade on Hogs Penetration was Excellent. My first dealing with using the Bleeder Blades

about 30 yards. arrow went thru the thin part of shoulder blade. If you hit the heavy bone, nothing is going thru.

If you hit em right, the arrow usually flies thru like a hot knife thru butter. elk goes 50 yards or so and falls over.

My whole group all use two blade stingers for elk...we want two holes every time. Started with a shorter draw hunter wanting more penetration, after seeing the results we have all been shooting them for around 10 years.

I would seriously consider the Magus Black Hornet 4-blade instead. More consistent arrow flight, exceptional penetration and strength, and great blood trails. They are a beefed up head from the Stingers, IMO.

I shoot the Buzzcuts and will be shooting them this September chasing elk here in AZ. Great head. Flies true and easy tracking.

yea, I have some and was going to use them for deer this year but for the first time in a long long time I did not draw any tags.

Dang, 3blade, that's unfortunate. Hey there's always OTC deer tags here in AZ.

I used a 4 blade stinger buzzcut last year for elk

Passed through from my 62lb 29.5" draw old bear bow (IBO 322).

Not a huge blood trail but I hit a bit high so I think the bleeding stayed mostly internal. Didn't matter as the elk was down within 90 yards.

I broke one with a pair of pliers after shooting it into the backstop at my range and Mike insisted on sending me a new one. I also hit the tree behind my elk and bent the tip. I got a new one and a hat for that...

I used the black hornet 4 blades and after shooting a couple of animals, one elk and 2 mule deer. i switched back to a three blade because of the lack of a blood trail. All three were pass threws just horrible blood trails. The elk had blood for the first ten feet then nothing for the next 75-100 yards were I found it dead fortunately the ground was soft and wide open so I was able to track it.
Well that's my experience hope it helps

If you've played the game long enough you will see anything happen with any broadhead you shoot. From my personal experience I absolutely love the 4 blade Magnus Stinger and buzzcuts. Best flying and easiest sharpening heads around for me. Plus lifetime warranty is a bonus.

My partner is using a magnus this year for elk, not sure what model, but he's 72 and has scaled back his bow so I suggested he get a cut on contact for better penetration. Hopefully he gets a shot and I can report back on model and performance.

I've been using the Black hornet Ser-razor for a couple of years, and that head is pure evil. Haven't kept an arrow in an animal yet.
Check out the Ranch Fairy on YouTube. Good friend of mine that I hunt with quite a bit. He has a ton of useful information regarding broadheads, blood trails, etc.

I used a 125 grain Magnus head on my 2017 AZ bull. 25 yard shot out of my 70# Mathews NoCam HTR.

Pic of blood trail though not needed since the bull was dead within 75 yards in open country...

Great results but it was only my second bull with a bow and first animal with this broadhead so a small sample size...

Magnus stinger 4 blade penetrates about as well as the 2 blade. Both are great. What I have found with elk is that a lower hit leaves a heavier blood trail than a higher hit. Stay away from something like a thunderhead 125 which has a poorly designed tip that can be challenged by elk hide.
Spin the stingers and if necessary loosen the screw to adjust for a perfect spin.

I will say this about the Stingers, the last 7 elk I have shot died from them --and I will use the four blade again this fall.

Time to repost, been chatting with upcoming archery clients for this coming Season and I always ask their Broadheads of choice ? Then offer my advice, always the same 4 blade Magnus STINGERS !!! Those that take suggestion never go back after seeing devastating results.

My wife just killed her bear with the Magnus Black Hornet.....complete pass through even with a low poundage bow.....bear was dead in 40 yards. Mike stands behind his heads too......you bend one or break one, free replacement!
