Mystery ranch vs kuiu

Since your not trying to save weight I suggest the MR. Just a tough simple pack that will carry as much weight as ya can handle. The Kuiu is a nice pack too, but I worry about long term durability. The MR will hold its resale value better than the Kuiu. With that said; I certainly wouldn't turn down a used Kuiu pack for the right price. I see a lot of them for sale on archery talk.

Did you end up going with the Metcalf? I've had mine for over and year and have no complaints. I hunt wilderness areas with my bow so a pack that can carry my supplies and not kill my shoulders gets my vote.

The key for me was making sure I sized it correctly and adjusted it properly.

Either way, there's a lot of brands and styles to choose from these days.

When I was researching packs I eliminated Kuiu from my list. There tended to be a lot of complaints about the packs not being designed for super hefty loads. I also looked at MR but they were super heavy. Maybe things have changed since I looked?

I would highly recommend Kifaru or Stone Glacier. You'll hardly find a negative review on either. I ended up with Kifaru because of the weight and offers so many different bag options. I doubt if there is a more comfortable frame for hauling hefty 100+ loads. Kifaru also offers an impressive line of lid, accessory, pouch, etc options. I was strongly considering SG, however it didn't offer anything in camo.
