Primarily 3rd season. The area I'm going got a good snow last year but years prior where warm etc.

What type of boot do you guys run. Keep going back and forth between insulated and 400 gram but I'm a treestand Hunter so I'm used to more insulation.

Torn and looking to buy a good pair but can only afford one set. The non insulated I could grab some boot covers and throw in some heat packs. But I also don't want cols.feet just walking around.

I think I wore my 800g Rocky?s everyday on my 3rd season hunt, even when walking in 4 miles. It was way too cold for uninsulated boots.
But many years I could probably get away with a 200g type boot.
400g insulated boots would be good and then take your uninsulated summer boots for warm, warm conditions.

Buy a good pair of 400 gram boots like Zamberlin Crispi-Hanwag . I have the Zam 960 guides the only boot I wear year round in Idaho . I pair my hunting boots with GOOD Firstlite wool socks !! My feet never get cold, If I know I am going to be in deep snow all day long I put on my Sorrel winter packs again with good wool socks

Was looking at the wild rock crispi boot. Only 400gram boot they offer. Besides a cheaper scheels only version that is what it is cheap.

go try some on in the store & watch camofire they have sales all the time on various boots I bought my Zamberlins for 60% off the store price.
