Box elder rifle deer

I drew this tag in Utah, and it will be my first time in the area. I know it's a general tag in a not so great unit, but I put in for it because it is a shorter drive for scouting purposes. If anyone has any helpful information on the area it would be greatly appreciated. I can exchange info on Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, and Washington. Thanks.

For some dumb reason last year my brothers decided they wanted to switch it up for a year and put in for Box Elder rifle. Needless to say they put in for the unit we had always hunted before. (they found out the grass is not greener in other units ha)

ALOT of people everywhere on the unit. More than I have seen in other general season areas.

We saw a lot of animals for sure over the hunt covered we hunted Raft River, Bally and then the Pilots. Lots of small 2 and 3 points that we watched get smoked. We saw a couple very small 4 points that they passed on. I'm sure that there are some good animals to be found on the unit but we sure couldn't turn one up with 5 spotters covering quite a bit of the unit.

There is a lot of private on the unit as I'm sure you already know.

If it was me coming from out of state I would give the tag back and find a better unit next year. There is a reason why a lot of people say its the worst unit in the state. If you end up keeping it good luck and shoot straight.

Well we have hunted Twin Peaks CWMU for years, until an outfitter took over and raised the price. Always did good and had fun. Now we go over there and hunt the public land and still do good. No monsters, but have a chance at some 23-25" 4x4's.
