Mule Deer Committee Survey

I got a Mule Deer Committee Survey today and filled it out. If you happen to be one of the lucky random winners too, I urge you to fill it out as well. The committee needs and values your input and it's your chance to speak your mind regarding mule deer management and hunting. And you don't have to attend a meeting and speak in front of an audience or a microphone.

Will they send Me one?

Or do you Think they already know My Opinion?

PISS POOR Deer Management Since 1972!

Mines Filled out Now & again!

I know so many people in so many places
They make allot of money but they got sad faces

It Ain't Easy being Me!:D:D:D

I wish the udwr would send this survey to all hunters who apply for the deer hunts. Actually give everyone the option to give their opinion.

I have never bought into their bogus claim that they only need to poll/survey 1% of hunters to get the same statistical results as polling/surveying 100% of hunters.

I don't know whether or not you'll get one, but mine was in my junk mail file, so check yours.

And I don't know whether or not they already know your opinion if the only place you express it is on this forum. Plus "PISS POOR Deer Management Since 1972" gives them absolutely NO information they can work with. I actually hope you get one.

>Huge waste of time, just lip
>service. They don't give a
>rats azz what the public
>thinks.

And therein lies the problem. I was on the last committee and I had several debates with others regarding the results of the survey. In fact, most of our discussions were based on public input (including social media). If you think it's a waste of time, then you'll be right because those that don't think it's a waste of time and speak up will prevail.

I too have found that the committees try to listen but; they are sometimes full of folks that have their own agendas. Just like the RAC and the Board is driven by SFW and I am not saying that SFW is evil but some of the items driven by the board/committees are driven by the outspoken...??..just look at OIL Archery sheep.....

The Questions? For the sake of my time and forum space, I'll try to summarize the questions and multiple choices, so keep that in mind as you read (and respond). I don't want to misrepresent the committee if I can help it, but if you have any questions about the questions, let me know.

There ya go! Have fun!

I can see clearly where this is headed...?..

More LE, more damn archery, Changing muzzleloader regs (again), redefinition of primitive weapons (look at Bow's too)

Wish I could provide the UDWR some thoughts as well. I just may contact, no I will contact them on Monday afternoon and ask to provide feedback to the committee.

I did not get the survey but would like to provide my opinion on these questions.

2- yes - 28 inch 3-point eye guards.

3- enjoy hunting-family and friends

4- same

5- increase- split up units that have more than one unit in them currently, like 4-5-6 making them separate unit along with other units that are similar. Also have private land only tags like Colorado so that the public land does not get overrun by hunters that do not have access to private property in these largely private unit. Hunting experience goes way down on units that are 80% private property with 80% of the hunters on the 20% of public land available to hunt. Also with this do not include private land buck to doe ratios into the public land, it give a misconception of what the unit really is. I could go on and on with this one but I'll end.

6- hunting without harvesting as long as I see bucks.

7- yes

8- neutral on all four areas for a genre unit.

9- yes- slightly because opportunity is still important to me.

10-
A. Strongly oppose
B. Strongly oppose
C. Neutral

11- leave it the same as current regulations.

12- satisfied

13- to many deer for herd health.

14- strongly support.

15- current regulations are sufficient just enforce what is in place like OHV travel off established roads etc...

16- make them illegal on public lands.

17- make it illegal on public lands.

18- not complicated

19- support limiting technology- put the muzzleloader 1x scope back in the regulations, There was no need for the change. Restricted magnification on rifle scopes. Bring the hunt back into
hunting is what I am saying.

20- yes in past years.

21- urban Utah but not by choice. The city grew up around our farming lifestyle and we are still hanging on to our 30 acre farm in the middle of all the mess around us.

22- 43 years

23- public land

24- give everyone equal opportunity. Do not let organizations outweigh the general public. Do what is right for Utah wildlife and not always focusing on the impact a decision will have on someone?s pocketbook.

Typos and proper sentence structure is common when work off my phone, disregard them, you get my overall thoughts.

I hope this helps and is looked at by the community.
