LAST EDITED ON Jun-24-19 AT 05:48AM (MST)[p]I hiked in 3 miles to hang cameras and ran into snow at mile 2.
The deer were hanging out just below the snow line but up higher near the peaks we're snow drifts 4-5 feet tall!
Wondering how many of you archery hunters are expecting there to be snow still on the ground in August where you hunt?

It Ain't Hard to see it from a Distance!

Still 4 to 5 foot in places!

Lots of people getting Stuck trying as well!

I know so many people in so many places
They make allot of money but they got sad faces

It Ain't Easy being Me!:D:D:D

Went down on the manti this weekend and the top is still covered and drifts much deeper than 5 feet. Plenty of drifts still 10+ feet. I'll bet a guy won't be able to get around at all up top till a week or two before the archery hunt starts. I'm betting there will still be some drifts hanging on until the white stuff starts flying again.

Guarantee there will be snow from last winter during archery, I've never seen so much water pouring out of the mountains either. Every spring is running hard too, definitely a huge difference from last year

I think most northern units will retain snow into the winter. Most units will keep some snow on those north facing slopes all year I'd bet.

Last Friday the state sent up a front end loader to clear the roads in our neck of the woods. I wish they left it alone. But if they didn't no one would be able to get down the road until the end of July. It's a little skinny tho. ??I couldn't open my door.

Fish lake unit central Utah . That road drives north to I 70 a scenic byway. It use to be a dirt road. I liked much better as a dirt road. Federal government had to asphalt it.

Ha! I have pictures of muddy kids on that road back in the day. Truck stuck in the barrow pit.

2011 was much like this year in the north. I had a Wasatch tag. It was pretty hard to get around until the middle of July. There may be some that don't fill their tag but it won't be because they could get to the critters.
