Utah handgun sale laws

I am 18 and a ?resident? in Utah. I am in the USAF and have PCS orders here, and I am looking to buy a handgun. Most people say that if I buy from a private dealer I am allowed to legally purchase (and laws that I have found). I feel most people will be too afraid to sell. Any advice or knowledge of this topic is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance !!!!

Until KSL Pulled their BS a few years ago Used Guns were Bought & Sold by the Thousands!

You cannot legally buy a handgun until the age of 21. That is federal law and no dealer can sell you one. That does not mean some private INDIVIDUAL won't sell you one, (still isn't legal) but most individuals these days are smart enough to make you fill out a form stating you can legally buy said gun.

Dealers may not sell to anyone under 21, but individuals can to those over 18 in Utah.

Try utahgunexchange.com after you find out if it's legal to buy from an individual at age 18.

My son got a concealed carry permit at 18 in Utah. It does have some restrictions though. I know he cannot carry on a university campus for example. Kind of weird. I know that is one place that I would want to carry. Not sure what the rules are for purchase though.

Buy ammo from the gun seller also. You will have a hard time buying handgun ammo in the stores.
