My girl drew a san juan Abajo tag i dont know the unit can any one offer any advise about where to start and what to expect about deer numbers and quaility thanks for any advise you can give

Rifle or muzzy tag? My first year hunting with my own tag was on the blues. Shot a decent four point. I've hunted there several times since. I don't know how things are looking this year, but it's usually not too hard to fill a tag and there are nice bucks there. You can find deer just about anywhere on the unit. Good Luck with her hunt.

I apreciate your responce she drew a rifle tag its apretty big unit if you hadnt been there where would you start im not going be able to fit a scouting trip in this yr

It all depends on how you plan on hunting the unit. Are you wanting to get off the beaten path, or stay near roads? What are you using to access the area, ATV's, truck, horses? Are you camping or staying in town in a motel? If you want to send me a pm with more info I can possibly point you in a direction.
