Figured I'd post this separately as a standalone in regards to the new fee structure and application process. Thanks for everyone's responses in part 1!

This has been interesting. I think the end game is going to be the increase in application fees. Say it goes up to $10, it's only $10 right? That doesn't hurt that bad does it? Big new untapped Revenue stream, while they still get their tag fees when we pay for the license. The end result being Point creep out of control! Well played Game and Parks....... JMO

They won't get me. I've decided to just hunt for bear for the rest of my hunting career. No more elk and muley's.

Bear tag is easy to get with no points. No concern what they decide to charge me for one tag.

If that happens, you may have a lot more "hunters" say to hell with the system and just go poach their game.

Like you said DW...it'll bring in a lot more revenue... to put towards.....the wildlife. :/

Cancer doesn't discriminate...don't take your good health for granted because it can be gone in a heartbeat. Please go back and read the last line. This time really understand what it says.

Point creep is already out of control. The same tag I drew with 2 points in 1991 took 5 points in 1997, now it is upwards of 23-25 points. My son who is 27 will never draw on of the primo units. We are getting out of points game. As soon as I can burn accumulated points we will concentrate on cow elk, easier to draw tags and just work to get away from crowds to enjoy what time we have left we can hunt together. As has been said by several on this board, one should lose all points when they draw any tag, even a landowner tag. All elk tags should be draw statewide. That is only way to slow point creep. Good luck this fall wherever you hunt.

Colorado's draw system for Deer, Elk ,and Antelope was already the worst in the country IMO. The Sheep, Moose, and Goat was the exact opposite. The net result of the new regulations throws D/E/A into the realm of ridiculous, and in 3 years S/M/G will be right there. Piss poor idea, when they could have simply raised the application fees to say $15.

A lot of guys must be going that way. It's easier to get a rifle bull tag in my unit than a cow tag.

The application fee increase is coming, that is a guarantee! And most likely we will be buying a non refundable hunting license just like a lot of other states. That was the plan all along in the meetings i attended, they are just working on the legislation so they can change it, i believe.

CPW.... Pfhhht... Yeah. WAFJ... They just devised an open check book scheme at the sportpersons expense.

saddling up anyway."

Yes, with the CPW it is about maximizing funds generated. I expect to see any and all efforts to increase revenue.

The link left out the brand new Revenue stream they're creating with the application fee and the new pay structure when applying for tags along with the fact that every swinging ##### in the country can Pony up 31 bucks in April and apply for all seven species drastically increasing Point creep! They're backing us into a corner where we will be begging them to raise the license fee and go back to having to pay up front which they will never do. I fully expect the application fee to double or triple soon if not increase more. The way they will sell it is it's only 10 bucks a try! This will accompany the license fee increase and we're going to be getting it from both ends!
