Help fight wolves!!!

Just a heads up... RMWP just announced that they are having a party at the Horse and Dragon Brewery in FT. Collins. Last year they tried a similar party but the company pulled out because they had no idea how political wolf reintroduction is.

Please take some time to write a thoughtful message to this small business.

I simply stated that RMWP is anti hunting. They want wolves even if it means hardships for ranchers and farmers. They are also anti hunting and would love to see our hunting heritage destroyed.

Give it a try and see if we can squash this...

Thanks for the intel. I sent this email to the facility:

I am writing as a dedicated conservationist who is opposed to wolf reintroduction to Colorado. Paradoxical? No. Like many conservationist/sportsmen, I understand that wolves in CO will be subject to stressful, short lives. There is not sufficient contiguous wilderness in CO for wolves to flourish, so they will be harassed and killed when they do what wolves do, which is travel. To me and many others, proposals to stock wolves in CO amount to cruelty to those wolves. RMWP will deny or obfuscate to avoid this issue, their history clearly illustrates that their passion is for the politics of wolf expansion, not wolves themselves or the people who will encounter them.
Thanks for hearing another side of a contentious issue.

Best Regards,

This is a nice angle here.

They returned my
Message, basically said they believe that this is best for Colorado?s Ecosystem and despite the fact that this will squash hunting culture and farming and ranching they are moving forward. They invited any organization to host an event.

I simply said it was a huge mistake to take on this charged issues and I hope they as a business understand...

You can mess around with little meetings, writing people back and forth or talking quite about wolves so other people won't get upset. I would work on uniting all the hunters under one group and going after legislators who will work with you. I do not think most people have a clue how ugly it is going to get . Remember once there dumped in your state you are going to watch packs grow and spread, you might evan get to watch them chase Elk down and kill them, but there is not a thing you can do for the next 10 years because they are going to be protected under the endangered spieces act. You and your hunting buddies will be threatened with prison time and loss of hunting license forever if you are found harassing wolves. These Radical enviromentalists who are coming into Colorado are ready for Wolf introduction, they are well versed and they have seen and heard it all. I wish you a lot of luck, it was a long hard road to follow here in Idaho. I do look forward in hunting the great state of Colorado this year.

Colorado residents need to change the makeup of your Politicians. Too many Liberal politicians in Colorado. You need your state senators too be far more conservative. The problem with Colorado is Big cities like Denver and the like breed liberals. Look at Nevada, as a state it is mostly conservatives ranching the land. However between Las Vegas and Reno the population is mostly liberal and they call the shots because of the liberal people who live in the highly populated cities. Wyoming is pure conservative politicians. I hope it never changes.

The biggest problem is we are outnumbered.

if this goes though we can donate about 700 of these nice wolves from Wisconsin ? to help your cause.. because that's sportsman do rrrright. help each other out... lol

What I'm hearing is that you don't like liberals in government. I can understand that you perceive their values to be different than yours. I would agree with you in some regards. However, I need to let you know that ranchers in this state lock up over 1 million acres of state land for ranching (or as their personal hunting leases) and treat them as private land. This isn't Wyoming or Nevada or any other state. Some liberal non-comsumptive users fight hard to keep public land public, and liberal politicians often do the same. I don't want wolves reintroduced artificially here, but don't confuse one single issue organization with the whole population of the front range. I don't think ranchers and conservative politicians are going to keep my hunting access open. There is some common ground to be had in this state between wilderness and nature loving liberal non-hunters and wilderness and nature loving hunters of all political persuasions. If you are worried, move here and change things.

I am not talking about the front range and private vs public land. I am talking about Denver and the far left mentality and the fall of Colorado as a great State. You watch, if the people of Colorado vote on I-79 Denver alone will get it passed and hunting as you now know it will be gone. Colorado is becoming the sista of Calif.
