Unit 40 4th season going to do it

Well I have decided to pull a 4th season tag for unit 40 for elk for this fall. Don't want to keep waiting getting to old after this i'am out of the points game so this will be my go around. Anyone hunted this season would like to hear what you have to say?

It can be a pretty tough hunt. If you have access to some private ground or go guided it could be a good one. I helped a friend on that tag a few years back on a public land only hunt and it took some hard hiking across some canyons and watching the GPS close until finally we were able to get a group of bulls to wander off a section of private on the 4th day and we made it happen.

Good luck, should be a good hunt I would definitely make sure I had OnX map on your phone so theres no question about boundary lines.

Yes I'am going guided it was between the third and fourth season for my picks I picked the fourth we will see if it was a good decision.

Using 19pts never will be able to draw first and didn't want to do muzzleloader.

Everyone talking about the moisture this year should be a good year for horn growth hope it holds out> last year was super dry lots of busted up bulls from what I hear.
