Will we know before May 31st?

Just thinking through some contingency plans if I don't draw the Colorado tag I applied for.

What are the chances we'll know before May 31st (would still have time to apply in WY)?

I only have one app in this year so the backdoor method (if that is still a thing) would be all I'd need to see.

Thanks!

Last year you didn't know, but every year prior you did know. Who knows is the answer this year! I think CO and WY are in a battle over non-resident hunters....that or it is just a coincidence.

This is new for 2019, it may help:

▶ Hunters who are successful in the draw but whose hunting plans have changed can now call CPW at 303-297-1192 to have their license reversed instead of returning it through the process described above.

▶ Hunters will not have to submit the refund paperwork or pay the $15 refund fee if they call to request a reversal by the deadline of 5 p.m. MT on June 14. After this deadline, the refund process will be the same as usual (see above).

▶ Once a license is reversed, the process cannot be undone. ▶ Reversed licenses will be made available for reissue.

But you still don't get a point for this year, you just keep the ones you had correct ?

I would assume you would not get a point, only keep the ones you had.

Truth.

If you draw, they will charge your card for the license. If you see that charge you will know you have a tag. If you don't all you need to do is come on here and see threads about credit cards being hit of Colorado. Somewhere in the regs it says when the draw results are for sheep/goat and then deer/elk. I would think by then CC would be charged. They may be late on posting but I think the way to tell is by CC charges.

In 2018 people began reporting card hits for deer on June 5th. They'd actually already posted the Draw Recap report the previous day, June 4th. The report was dated May 14th. Hence we know they'd had the draw done for 3 weeks, but chose to withhold the posting of results, in part to match with the original published results posting date.
