Quotas

I think the next CPW Commission meeting is in April they canceled the March meeting due to bad weather and road conditions. I don't think the Quotas will change much but who knows. This meeting is going to focus on the season structure for the next 5yrs. You can log into CPW site and find the agenda for the meeting. I think you can also log in and follow along with the meeting?

Pretty sure they don't set quotas until their meeting in early May.

Do you really think they will lower the deer tag numbers in the gunnison basin? Being serious not a smart ?A?, I mean it's not like they give jack for tags the way it is now. That area has had a run of bad luck as far as winter kill goes. What it really needs is out of our control, 3 or 4 normal to light winters in a row would be a nice start. This winter has really been strung out. The deer have had just about all they can handle and more in many states and regions. Getting old.

My dad has been talking to the biologist in Gunnison and he said they were actually thinking about increasing the tags in the northern Gunnison units. That was in the middle of winter though, so maybe they changed their mind.

Don't know what they will do, but the second half of winter was when the big snows happened. Close to all time records for March in many areas, especially the southern half of the state. Hope the Gunnison herds have fared ok.

??‍♂️ Of course they would. However last year saw 50 to 75 percent cuts in 54,55 and 551. So increase in tag numbers isn't saying much.
