GMU 66 beetle kill

I am a non resident and drew a elk tag for GMU 66. I won't be able to make it there till a few days before the season starts. While talking to biologist beetle kill was mentioned. When I ask where at he was vague in his response. If anyone has first hand knowledge of exactly where the beetle kill is(Powderhorn?, La Garita?, Uncompahgre?, elsewhere?, everywhere?) I would appreciate the info. It will help me in determining where I want to hunt.

Call the forest service office. They have the info too.

Some places are worse than others, but there is some almost everywhere, and a lot in many places. I'm not sure I'd get too excited or worried about it.

Even the elk are avoiding them untill they are pressured. Grab yourself a Fiskers 18 inch trimming saw at Home Depot. You will be glad you did.
