After acquiring lots of bonus points for antelope, my long time lady friend and chief cook and bottle washer for the Arizona Wildlife Outfitters hunting camps, and a long time volunteer Arizona Hunter Education instructor, FINALLY drew an antelope tag this year!

Page had accumulated 19 bonus points, and has NEVER hunted or taken an antelope.

That's the good news.

The bad news?

Page, who is 78 years young, was recently diagnosed with lung cancer in her right lung.

She is having an operation on Wednesday, March 13th here in Kingman.

Her surgeon said they caught it early; it is either Stage 1 or Stage 2, and she has a good chance of beating this.

We are all praying for a complete recovery and a good hunt for her in September.

That being said, we at Arizona Wildlife Outfitters are available this year to assist any elk hunters or antelope hunters.

If we can be of assistance, let me know.

My prayers will be with You on the 13th. I know you will be smiling soon after and again come September ... Bruce & SilverGrand

We all will thinking of her on the 13th, praying everything will work out to the good.

My best to her and wishing her the strength to pull through! She's gotta have a goal to a quick recovery...so just send her a bunch of pictures of lopes!

First, congrats to Page for drawing the unit 10 tag! Good luck to her on her hunt.

Second, and most importantly, I will be praying for Page and her doctors. I met both of you a few years ago prior to taking one of your hunter safety classes. You guys were extremely friendly, hospitable, and nice to this Tennessee Hillbilly.

Again, I will be praying for Page's surgery tomorrow, and for her speedy recovery.

I to have met both of you and had the pleasure of your course and having dinner. Best of luck on the surgery and the hunt. Walk in the grace of God.

Understandably, Page was a bit apprehensive about the surgery!

Out of surgery and sitting up in her bed!

Page came through the surgery fine and she is now home and on the road to recovery!

Page was happy to come home after spending 7 days in Kingman Regional Medical Center.

They took the top lobe of her right lung and some lymp nodes. Doc said the nodes looked ok.

We are just waiting on the lab results but are praying for a complete recovery!

Page and I thank you all for you prayers!

P.S. Page says she is going to try and be at the Supplemental Hunter Education class we are doing on March 30th! LOL She is quite a gal!

So glad to hear everything went well! I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you have a great hunt!
I will be scouting for elk and will let you know if I locate any stud bucks.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

Page has an appointment with her surgeon tomorrow and he will decide if she is doing well enough to let her start driving alone again.

She is on 2 liters of oxygen all the time.

Page says she is DEFINITELY going to be at the Hunter ED class on Saturday!

Tough gal...

Hi Don-

We are very glad that Page's surgery went well. She has been in our thoughts and prayers since we talked about her upcoming surgery on the HAM hunt with you guys. We will keep her in our prayers for a speedy recovery!

Tell her congrats on the draw AND that I am STILL picking cactus out of my legs and that will give her a smile! Seriously though, I literally just found one in the side of my calf the other day and it made me laugh and brought back fun memories.

Follow Up!

May 10, 2019

Page is doing way better, off oxygen during the day. I chemo treatment done, 2 more to go.

She is doing better than we all expected. She's even got me digging and planting rose bushes for her!

Took her to dinner today at her favorite place in Kingman and she picked out the flowers she wanted (orchids)

Thanks for all the prayers. God heard em..
