Quick question regarding 2C. Where do the deer that winter in 2C migrate from? Thanks in advance for your input.

+1.

Local deer. Tough hunt, we were there last year. Saw few bucks, but some monsters.

What hunt do you have? The bow and rifle hunts are the best in the state if you know where the deer are.... Muzzleloader is rough and this year will be really rough with full moon right on the hunt!! Last full moon 2C hunt deer moved for 10 min a day, 5 in the AM and 5 in the PM thats it! Call anytime if you have more questions!

Thanks for the info. I drew the bow hunt. I knew that 2C was low on quantity and high on quality, but i didn't realize that they were primarily resident bucks.

Grizzly, which hunt did you have?

LAST EDITED ON Jun-28-12 AT 03:55PM (MST)[p]Sierra, we had the January bow hunt. It was awesome. We didn't kill a buck, but my wife passed a legitimate 185" with a kicker at 42 yards.

Once she saw a true 215"+ buck, she couldn't "settle" for a 185". She doesn't regret her decision though.

PM me if you want more specific info. I'm happy to help.

Also, she drew 2B January archery this year. So if you have any insights that might help us out there, it would be appreciated.

(She is the luckiest person that I know. She draws two great NM tags in three years and pulls a SLC Expo tag for this year, too.)

LAST EDITED ON Jun-30-12 AT 11:13PM (MST)[p]Grizzly,

If you are trying to fire me up, it worked. It says a lot about the hunt when you pass on a 185. I kind of know the feeling. Last year i passed up a few 320" inch bulls on the VC because we saw a couple of really nice bulls 340"+ on the scout day. I too went home empty handed, but it was still an amazing hunt.

It sounds like your wife has a couple of great hunts lined up again this season. Good luck on those hunts! Unfortunately, i can't help you with 2B, as i have not had the pleasure of hunting that unit.

Ray, good luck on your hunt. I have heard big bucks live there, but, not easy to find let alone get an arrow in them.
