I was interested mostly in the unit 2 deer, elk 34-36, elk 16, ibex and oryx tags. I was surprised with all the tags that they were selling. Thanks

Ya went to the auction again this year. Was sad to not come away with anything. Usually get some antlers and pictures but people were feeling way to generous this year lol. Will post prices here in a bit.

Anyone one know how much the Valle Vidal elk tag sold for?? As crazy as this sounds those prices are reasonable if you have the money for those type of hunts.

The Valle Vidal hunt was the only hunt to go for more $$$ than in 2016, it was
$9500.00 last year..

There was not a unit 30 elk tag auctioned. There was a units 34 or 36 elk tag auctioned. If this is the one you are referring to it went for $9,000

That Ibex tag went pretty cheap,last year sold for $35,000 or $40,000.

Wow gotta be a #####. Rio has more insight on a lot of things than most of us because of his position. And I went to the banquet for the last 3 years and know the prices everything has gone for. Don't be an ass. Have enough of that on mm without taking it from fellow nm guys

I suspect the reason ibex tag is selling for less $$ is because the quality isn't like it used to be. Way too many people hunting with a posse of spotters w/ radios, etc. including outfitters. I hunted them first time back in 1998+/-; most recently was on daughter's nanny hunt couple years ago. Quality of billies nowhere close to back then.

Why would any horses anal sphincter valve pay $17,000 for an Ibex hunt in NM when they can book the same hunt in Turkey for a larger Ibex at half that amount? Anyone can hunt them in their native habitat, and be guided and cared for with two guides and one outfitter including an interpreter for half that price! The absolute stupidity of some hunters in the USA and what they are paying compared to what is available for comparable hunts overseas never ceases to amaze me. Even when international airfare is factored in what a hunter receives in Europe, and Africa along with the customer service and attention to detail associated with the hunt far exceeds anything found in the states! And I'm not a wealthy hunter. Just an average joe who recently retired.
