How exactly do these work? If im reading this correctly, these allow a person that drew an antelope tag to hunt on private land? Please help me understand how these work. I know in the past Ranchers were given tags depending on their acreage and they could sell them

Ranch-wide Agreements
Ranch-wide agreements allow private landowners to enroll their ranch?s private deeded and public
leased acres as one contiguous ranch for access by public draw hunters. Landowners are issued
authorizations for pronghorn licenses valid on that property?s deeded and public leased acres.
To participate contact the NMDGF at 505-476-8042.

Good luck, they can now charge you a trespass fee of whatever they want. And they also can purchase their own over the counter tags to sell. So good luck getting access to any ranch. Public land antelope hunting is what it's come down too. That's the reason a lot of people probably did not apply for areas with large private land.

The NE units are virtually all private most all State land is landlocked by private and therefor you need permission to get to it which you won't get. So.... unless you know a land owner you got a tag you can't use. The G&F basically turned over ALL Antelope hunts to private land owners. I Could never draw a tag anyway I drew once in 45 years of applying. Now you have no place to hunt even if you draw. I think that's why people drew this year because no one put in for a tag that's worthless.

Ranch wide as it was explained to me a those antelope meeting is like the "old " antelope hunts. A rancher can sign up Ranch wide which includes his private and public leased land. The private hunters can hunt on both. The public can hunt on his private. Game and Fish is suppose to limit the amount of private tags for his place if the rancher does that.

I would recommend emailing NM Game and Fish to see if they will provide a list of ranches that participate in the unit you drew.

I predict a lot of unhappy folks after they try to hunt some of the "public" land in their drawn units. This pronghorn season could be interesting in NM.
