Region Y Deer question

Plan on hunting region Y this Fall. Question, does the season start early enough in the Big Horns to where bucks are still in Velvet and that would help your chances of spotting deer or is it just a matter of getting away from pressure. Have hunted unit before but always later in the month as Elk have been my main focus.
Thanks for any help and your opinion in advance.

We elk hunted the area 2015, starting on Sept 10 and bumped a batchelor group of 50/50 velvet deer.

Thank you for the replies. Think I'm gonna try and go early. Looking forward to seeing if I made the right choice.

We've hunted Y the last few years on September 1st. We hunt the lowlands and have never seen a branch antlered buck older than 1 1/2 still holding on to velvet. They seem to hold their velvet longer in the high country.
