Wyoming Draw

Good luck to you, too, BigChiefJ. I applied for an antelope unit as a first choice in the special draw that could have been drawn as a second choice last year, so I am hoping that we will be chasing antelope this year again in Wyoming. Things change from year to year, so we might not be.

Thanks for the reminder

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

I already know the results. I have an inside source and my source said I didn't draw. name of my source is bad luck.. If I think negative then if I do draw a elk tag that takes 20 years for a resident to get then it will be more exciting.

If this was a gohunt strategy/ suggestion, I'm betting lots of people saw it, and you may be disappointed with the draw results.

I wonder if my strategy is good since I don't use gohunt?

As long as they didn't suggest the unit you applied for as a great idea for Joe Schmo with one more point than you, and 500 Joes just put I for your secret spot. Goodluck:)

Good luck to you too. It's the thrill of the hunt times two. We hunt the successful application and then hunt the beast if drawn.

wow year after year of nothing, currently looking for rope if ya catch my drift......joking aside general season it is

no joke! thanks GoHunt, Huntinfool, Epic, Eastmans, etc...

Max deer points and the special draw wasn?t enough to pull a NR deer tag! Next year, I guess.

I have been trying to take a couple of buddies on their first out of state big game hunt. Thought an antelope hunt in WY would be a great introduction. After 5 long years of trying to draw an antelope tag in a unit with decent public access we finally drew this year! NR special 83-1. 66.67% draw odds with 4 points. Hoping to make it an enjoyable trip for them as I know they were getting discouraged not drawing every year due to the point creep. They are excited now though!

Good luck guys!

I'll be taking my soon to be 17 year old son on his first out of state deer hunt. Deer unit 128 type 3, should be fun!

I drew a OIL Moose tag at home so we will be juggling time for hunts for sure.

3 antelope buck tags in the special for our party...looks like the points needed went up a little this year in some areas.

Our group pulled a 47-1 antelope tag in the random draw. Was hoping for my 2nd or 3rd choice to save my points to share w my daughter next year, but I'll take it. Hunted it in 2017 and had a blast.

2017-0 for 3 Deer, Elk and Antelope
2018-0 for 3 Deer, Elk and Antelope
2019-0 for 3 Deer, Elk and Antelope

With all the reduction in hunter opportunity in NW Wyoming in the last 15 years, I am wondering why I continue to waste my money by applying. just sayin...mh

I got my 2nd choice deer tag in the 'cheapie fee' draw.

I just do points on Antelope

These forums, the outdoor marketing machine, sportsman's egos have finally destroyed the golden goose.

They've loved it, and hugged it, and petted it the wrong way. Just like Mice, and Men.

Life's about change. We got front row seats to some of the most unpleasant change we're ever going to see.

"ever going to see" I say its just getting started

No Deer or Antelope tag.
Antelope point creep was crazy last year 3 points was 100% draw this year 4 points was only 66% and they added 50 tags.

SHB, those are some of the truest words ever typed on this forum!!!

Was 26 a gohunt suggestion? I drew 26 last year as a second choice and it could?ve been a 3rd choice, this year it was 3.5% odds as a 2nd choice

Donated more money again ang got shutout. Wife and her Dad drew 81 deer so I hope I get invited so I have something to do in October.

Point creep got me again!

Good luck to all you heading afield in WY this fall. Please post pics for the rest of us to enjoy!

Drew Non-Resident Antelope in unit 43 for buck and a doe with party group. First time applying in the state for Antelope we called some rancher friends who are allowing us to hunt their pivots and fields so I don't think we will have any issues filling the tags and helping him out on the ranch property.

I managed to pull one of the best late season elk tags in the state. Pretty excited to pack in with some horses, fight some grizzlies, and search for a monster bull in November. Also pulled a late whitetail tag which hopefully i can fill on my way back home from my elk hunt. Now I can focus on highcountry muleys and my mountain goat tag, and not have to worry about elk until later. Cant wait to start hitting the hills

Sheesh man you probably ought to check the draw results again. With luck like that there is bound to be a successful beside your sheep application. Good luck this fall and I hope to read about it.

A late whitetail tag, second choice antelope, and an additional cow elk tag for me. Area 102 deer and 59 antelope for my 13 year old son. Pretty good year all around.

chestereqwyo, I just spent some time a week ago in elk 31 for a non-ressy that drew elk and as you know that was in the SW of 102.

Ya need any intel feel free to reach out to me.

My 16 year old son & his cousin drew 120-1 deer for the Nov 1- Nov 15 hunt.

They also drew 52-2 antelope tags along with my Dad, sister, and nephew.

We will be putting on the miles in Wyoming this year-can't wait. Definitely one of my favorite states to hunt!!

Believe it or not I somehow drew both 102 for deer and 58 for antelope this year! Didn't even have max points for either species... I'm still checking the draw results on the WY website daily to make sure someone isn't just playing a cruel joke on me. :)

Good luck to all those that have tags. It's going to be a fun fall!!!

Wow you better go buy some lotto tickets quick.?

SHB,

You forgot some other culprits The ESA, EAJA, Federal District Judges with an Agenda, Eco-elites, and consistently poor decision making by G&F from top to bottom.

just sayin...mh

NvrEnuf killed a couple nice critters. I was with him when he killed his deer. His goat will book. But I'll let him tell the story if he so desires( and he probably won't, lol).

Well, resident here but I got my elk, mule deer, pronghorn and bighorn sheep all DIY. Nothing huge but my sheep just might make book. Scoring it shortly.

Thats quite a year. Good work

Left a cow tag and a whitetail tag unfilled. Spouse took a nice mulie, whitetail, and pronghorn buck so all 3 freezers are full.
First year for only 1 elk though.

Sheep gets scored this week, he will go at least 175+ B&C I think.
