I am 1 point behind max elk points and am tired of playing the points game. if I could get some suggestions on what would be the best unit for the the points I have for 2020. I am willing to higher a guide and am in good shape. I don't know if I could draw unit 100. And it sounds like unit 7 would be a good unit but cant afford Wagonhound. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. thank you for everyone's input.

Would a late season migration hunt interest you? Or are you looking for a back country wall tent? Stay in a lodge and hunt from a truck every day. What is your goal in size. You have lots of options depending on what your expectations are and what kind of experience you desire.

I do not want a truck and lodge hunt. I have read a lot of the past posts about a migration hunts units 56,58,59, but I thought those were for Max point holders. I think that a 350+ class bull is a true trophy and would be extremely pleased with that caliber of bull. I have harvested numerous 320 bulls. But I would also like to consider a rut hunt as well.

I am in same situation. Got 10 points. Would hire guide also. Not to hijack your thread ,just let u know u are not alone. PM me if needed anyone. ,,,,,,,,,BULL!

They harvest some big bulls on the Q, but that is a lodge hunt. But if you pass a 330-340 there you might not see bigger during your trip. If you really want the best chance at a 350 plus bull NW Wyoming on a migration hunt is your best bet...lots of good outfitters up there too.

I appreciate all the replys. I looked at the Q ranch and looks like I would get a solid bill there, but I quess i need to do a little more research on the northwest part of the state and talk to some outfitters up there. Any suggestions on northwest outfitters that do these late migration hunts?

Wood River Ranch. 61, 62, or 63.

I would look at Unit 61; trails west Outfitters, Josh Martiglo, I hunted with him in 2017, wilderness horseback hunt. Great experience

Skeet, what type of bull did you harvest with him and how many bulls did you see on average per day with him

Might not be the exact type of hunt your looking for? unit 2 might be worth checking into? I drew it in '17 and I was 1 behind max. The year before my father drew it with 1 behind max. We each killed 330 class bulls. Unguided.
From my understanding the unit is closed this year, not sure why it is closed this year, but if they re open it, with not being hunted this year the bulls will be 1 year older with out being hunted...
