Anyone have any insight on unit 53 for archery antelope? Me and the wife drew and are going to be headed up for the archery opening weekend. Looking for some advice. She would love to stick one with her bow. Any good waterholes we can set a blind up on?
Thanks in advance!!!

Not trying to be a jerk, but really any water that is in antelope habitat has a good chance. Just make sure that you are on state or blm. Some of the landowners there don't care but most don't like people just going where ever they want without knowledge.

Its a pretty good tag. Good bucks in general throughout the unit. Personally I like hunting the higher elevation habitat in the unit. Mainly because I prefer the choice of taking a nap under a tree if I wanted to.

Really the only place you won't find antelope is in the treed area on the eastern 1/4 of the unit. But they will butt right up to trees.

Pymulies Thanks for the reply. I know it's not real hard to find antelope. Just trying to be a little prepared before we get up there. Thanks again.

Hunting antelope over water can be tricky, especially on a wet year. If antelope have lots of water choices it can be very hit or miss. Also, the water source needs to be small enough. Too big and they won't come in close enough. Also, if you can't conceal your blind, they may be too skiddish to come in. You can leave your blind up on blm, but not state land. Just some things to think about.
