Unit 60 antelope

I drew this tag, scouted the unit last weekend and was disappointed in the number and quality of antelope. Honestly, saw more wild horses than antelope. I'm sure there are pockets that hold higher numbers, but I didn't find any. Any help would be appreciated.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-14-19 AT 06:26AM (MST)[p]The southern part of 60 had a rough winter. Try the north if you didn't spend much time there.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-14-19 AT 02:19PM (MST)[p]Get off the main roads...60 is not about seeing lots of antelope it's about finding pockets that aren't hunted where there are several monsters at. It's no magic unit and some area will be a better producer this year on book bucks, but that being said there are always some great bucks out there...must won't put in the hard work required to find them though.

Try the areas around Cyclone Rim on far north side, best area I found. Plus the Honeycomb Buttes to the west of Cyclone Rim. Those stock tanks south of Cyclone Rim are big draws to those antelope in that area. 60 is not about big numbers or herds, but small isolated pockets of antelope that can have a very large buck in them, great genetics there. Another great area is a big open area south of the Honeycomb Buttes to the west of Cyclone Rim area. Keep the faith-- great trophy area !
Glad to help you any way I can. ?

You most welcome ! The antelope in 64 unit just to north of 60 unit do move somewhat into 60 in Oct to winter in north part. Just how much or how many depends on the weather variations in that particular year. But that's another thing to be aware of.
Once the season starts, the 3 stock ponds/tanks just south of Cyclone Rim are a big draw for the antelope watering. Also there is a water trough just south of the Honeycombs Butttes on the north end of the big Empty Space that is another big draw that hardly anyone knows about or hunts. The antelope get really spooky after season hits & can be tough to stalk into rifle range, so watching a water hole from 300 yards out behind cover can be a huge advantage . Text me anytime I can help. This is a super tag of a lifetime? never get it again , nail a Monster, but it's not an easy slam dunk, too much area to cover.
Good Hunting & Good Luck ?!
