I've drawn a 102 antelope tag and was wondering if anybody has any experience /knowledge in this hunt area, as far as access to public, camp areas, roads, etc. Not antelope.....it's Wyoming, there everywhere! We ARE doing our homework, as far as Google Earth, maps, Onyx, etc but a little helpful knowledge goes a long way! Thanks in advance!

I've hunted 102 twice in the past 5 years for Antelope. There is a reason the tags are so easy to draw. If, as you say, you've done your homework then you know where the public land is and that there isn't much of it. You are correct that most of the public will hold some antelope - until about noon on opening day. Get there a day or 2 early, find where they are, and kill 'em opening morning. There will be a lot of hunters on each public parcel and the goats will either be dead or gone in a hurry. Start on the smaller parcels surrounded by private on the north side of the unit or just south of Buffalo on the Kingsbury ridge public land. Get as far from the road as you can. Good luck and don't be a one and done poster. Please come back and share info with others. Thats what makes this work. Chip

Chip,
Thanks for the response. I appreciate the info. Did you camp or stay in Buffalo? We're gonna camp. I was just wondering. Also, that was our plan to get there early, find a campsite, scout and get a game plan together. Your right about being active on this & other sites. I'm a FIRM BELIEVER in "hunters helping hunters." I'm ALWAYS pretty free with my information and help. Just out of curiosity, where are you based out of. Thanks again, Chris

You're welcome Chris. I'm from Wisconsin. I picked up an antelope tag the last 2 times I was out there Elk hunting. I "camped" at the Z-Bar cabins in Buffalo. Reasonably priced, simple, clean. Very nice folks. Good Luck

Thanks again. I hunt elk in CO. In fact I'll just be getting back from CO and then head up to WY 2 weeks later for antelope.
