Missouri River Breaks.

We hunt a ranch with access right down to the river. Last year the snow thawed and the roads were mud!!! We had a tough time moving around with our 4X4 pickups. This year we're considering bringing an UTV or two. We have access to a Kubota 1100 4X4 or a Bobcat 3400 4X4 both side by sides. Not having a lot of experience with these, my question is how will they handle the roads if they get bad again? Any and all input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The gumbo of eastern MT is horrid. You will be able to very marginally get around better with a sxs over a 4x4 pickup. I've taken my sxs there & found it did slightly better than pickup but only slightly. They still tear up the roads which folks don't often consider

What I learned with a sxs in montana is you shouldn't be as concerned with the mud as you should be with ice.I think that on a 2 trac road there is a truck trac and a center trac made by quads and a sxs does not fit either.I think chains and shovel will do in the mud, last year was the first time that I ever saw mud in the last 20 years in nov, but it was ice before thanksgiving.

The two tracks on our place go down to the river and give us access to our best hunting. They?re steep in spots and with the mud last we didn't chance it. Hoping to be able to get down there and back up with the sxs. It would certainly make getting a deer out of there less of a challenge.
