Spring Bear Hunt

I am planning on purchasing a over the counter license for black bear this year. I am new to hunting in Idaho and was hoping to get some pointers on where to go. I was considering hunting in the northern part of the pan handle. I was looking at sand point, priest lake, and bonners ferry. If anyone has any pointers, id greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Says Spring Bear Hunt, so I am going to go with that. Bears all over Idaho. They will want to feed in the openings and clearcuts early in the AM and PM. You don't have to go too high to find them, although I have seen them up high in June, most of the time they will be near water as well (as in, in the canyons that have water/rivers).

Roger that on the spring hunt apparently I should have read the title. Find some open areas with grass coming up and do a lot of glassing. Bears can move quite a bit looking for feed.

Headed up to upper idaho myself in 3 1/2 weeks for 11 days of enjoyment and hopefully a bear if it shows it self.

Good luck to all.

Anyone doing any good yet?

Leave in the morning for our yearly 11-day hunt/outing in beautiful Idaho.

No luck. We didn't see hardly any sign at all. The only bear we seen was on the way home going through Montana. I hope everyone else has better luck than we did.
