Hello, Have been trying to get myself/son on a hunt in your state. Have 19 pts . Was wondering if someone would be willing to maybe help us with a hunt that we would have a good chance of killing a bull? If needed could split points so 3-4 could hunt. Son is 40 and I'm 65 so I don't need a straight up and down hunt but I can get around pretty good. Know that app's are a long way off but starting early can't hurt. Thanks in advance for any help....Tom

You have 19 and want to party hunt ? or you both have 19 ? if you both have 19 I would discourage you from taking on another hunter you have good options. if you have a total of 19 it won't matter too much you'll draw the same tag.

I assume rifle ? only the very hard to draw tags offer a realistic chance at the 350 + bull. most are more raghorn hunts with a chance at a good bull. success rates will be less than 25% in most cases.

What are your expectations ?

19 points for each of you? I might be able to help, I've got a friend looking for someone with 19-20 points to put in with for one of the big 3. In return a semi-guided hunt (LOP tags) the next year on a ranch in NE Oregon. 300"+ taken each year off of it and if you want semi-easy, this is the place to get it done.

If their non residents, your chances of drawing as a party are 0.

Because 3 people would exceed the NR quota even if they were to draw. so nobody would get a tag.

Will try and make this easier, I have 19pts as a NR. Trying to get a hunt where my son(no Points) and me could get a hunt with a res who knows a unit that could we all 3 could draw together. So would have just over 6pts each. If that doesn't work then I'm trying to get one of the big 3 tags which will be hard for myself.

Salmon here's my sons bull taken in there last season

You should be able to draw Walla Walla rifle with 19 as a NR.

Its a pretty good hunt, if you need some help I can get you started..

Its not small country.

I'm now at 20 NR points but would like to burn them next year. Have applied for Mount Emily archery until now. Curious if I should try for a rifle tag now. Not in as good of shape.

I hunted archery Mt. Emily in 2016 and saw very few bulls over 330 in 12 days of hunting. Ended up killing a nice 300 six point middle of the last week. Pasted on one 320 middle of the season thinking there was a bigger one. It's a steep unit that much you'll need to be in great shape or horses. However with some scouting or knowing someone that has been there you'll find good hunting that is doable without horses and average hiking but you might not be able to be as picky. I'd be happy to assist if you decide to hunt here.
