FHL elk hunt..the conclusion

Hey Guys.
I wanted to share a picture of the bull I was blessed to harvest Tuesday on the muzzlelaoder bull elk hunt up at Fort Hunter Liggett. It was the best experience ever. Ton's of elk, the staff at FHL was awesome as well as every other hunter I met.
A BIG thank you to all of the guys here that shared their experience and knowledge with me. Look me up when you draw your tag!!!

Found him up on top at the north end of area 24 with 5 other bulls.

wow. Tuesday? haven't been in a few years and then was deer and birds but they limited you to weekends only. is different for elk? or have the rules been changed? the weekend only hunting is the only thing i didn't like about the place. lots of critters for sure.

They leave the base open on the weekdays for the elk hunters only during their hunt. 16 days. It was great. The whole place to only the 8 hunters.

Yes we saw lots of elk and many bulls. Saw 1 that was a real monster but couldn't get on him. He the was the lone bull with 50+ cows. Too many eyes and they headed into zones that were off limits to hunting. Couldn?t pass on my bull ... he was good enough.
