Trinity County Buck

I just thought I would share a picture of a buck I killed in 77 on my Grandfathers Ranch the (Jameson Ranch) in trinity county. I received the NRA Silver Bullet award in that year from the NRA for the best Black Tail entered. The ranch is now the Stewart Ranch some the best hunting back it the day when I was growing up 13,000 acres. This buck scores 136 6/8 24" wide I climbed out on a rock and looked over the edge and the buck was laying down 8 feet away didn't know what hit him. I moved to Colorado in 87 but still miss Northern Calif.

Great buck! Hard to find them with eye gaurds like that. There's some big bucks in that country

With all the dope growing up in that area don't know what it has done to the deer population. We owned all the way from the kettenpom lookout all the way down to the eel river. Also shot a couple of Fallow Deer that Dean Witter brought in from Point Reyes. We would get a lot of poaching on the bottom of the ranch from people coming in on the railroad. Witter had 36,000 acres next to our ranch that is now up for sale but you would need to win a big loto jackpot to buy it.

Yea all I saw in my scope was hair just aimed down the barrel at the back of his neckI
I killed alot of bucks but this one was the best. I killed a 28" buck but his horns went straight out and only came up about 8" real freak.
