NE archery elk

One of the youth tag holders killed a 400" bull last year in Northeastern, and it was the cover page of Eastman's Hunting Journal a few issues back.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-14-19 AT 00:54AM (MST)[p]Glad you got the tag. I put in for the archery hunt but didn't get it. I did some research last year and it can be tough if the elk are spread out prior to the rut. Talk to the biologist who have some good info. There are a couple of guides that live in the area. Its big country and in the archery season it's not easy to locate them. Sitting water is what the guides usually try to do for their clients. It may be hard to find the 400?ers, but the guides have cameras on all the water so they will know if there's one around. Otherwise get up there and scout a couple of times before your trip. Good luck and let us know how you do.
