New to California

So I just moved to the North Central coast of California for work. Born and raised in Utah, and I know I was going the wrong direction when I moved here as most are moving out--but this is where work brought me. I've been on MM for years, but just signed in with a new name.
Is there anything to hunt/shoot around Gilroy? I see plenty of deer, hogs, geese, etc. every day, but is everything around here private? I don't know my neighbors yet, and I'm a bit nervous to let people know I hunt and have multiple guns (especially given what just happened here at the Gilroy Garlic Festival).
Anyway, I'm here for awhile so I need to find something to do!
I do have a muzzy deer tag for Utah, and a 3rd season Colorado deer tag, and my boys have rifle deer tags for Utah, so we'll have some hunts this fall.
California just got one more conservative hunter to add to the population!

Welcome to California! , pretty much private with a fee if you can find a place to hunt , check out A , B and D zones lots of public ground , good luck hunting , California has lots to offer from the Ocean to the mountains in a matter of hours .

Hey welcome I'm sorry you live here now haha... anyway make the best out of it and take advantage of some hunting while your hear. California has a lot of opportunity hunts.

Welcome to CA! You moved to a beautiful part of California. What business are you in? I ask that because it can get you into some hunting possibilities.
For your area, I know people hate the pigs, and I think some will let you shoot them for free or a small fee.
For deer, I'd make the trip north to the Lake Berryessa area for A zone, or a little farther north to the A-B zone.
I can give you some more suggestions from there if you're interested.

But while your here.. Awesome turkey, pig and black tails around Gilroy. Insane coastal kayak fishing due west of ya. Hate to recommend the club style of hunting but Wilderness unlimited and Golden ram provide decent access. Wilderness areas north have good deer and Bear hunting. Check out the mnt quail hunting too. Just try not to remember your in the most liberal POS state in the Union. Good luck! Bh1
