Mule Deer

Just curious how difficult it is to draw any mule deer tag anywhere in Nevada as a non-resident. I can't find draw odds on Nevada when I search it.

All depends on what you want. There are a couple archery tags you could probably get first try. If you want a late rifle tag in a good unit, you're going to have to wait a while. Here is a link to the draw odds history:

My experience is limited to northeastern NV, so I can only tell you what I know.

Area 6 (061, 062...) is more of an opportunity hunt - but there are always some nice bucks taken by those who know what they are doing or get lucky.

Area 10 is mostly the Rubies, but covers a lot of other area with low deer densities. Again, more of an opportunity place with a few nice ones taken every year. Access is a little harder here, but if you are into the back country experience, this is a good place to go with the Ruby Mountains Wilderness. This is pretty steep country, but there are lots of deer in there.

Area 7 is kind of in the middle. Harder to get a tag, some wilderness, lots of easily accessible public land. Some really nice bucks.

081.....good luck getting a tag, but if you do, hole out for a monster.

Anyway, that's the rundown for around here. The biggest hurdle is always getting the tag. There will always be a buck for your tag in NV, just a question if it is the buck you want.
